Ole Højer: from Denmark to Nerja
An independent Scandinavian optician in Nerja, where we never rush you and speak four languages.
The shop opened in 2004, set up by a Danish chain of opticians, and it has been in the same premises on Calle Antonio Ferrándis ever since.
In October 2010 it went its own way, independent of that chain, with a new name over the door: Ole Optica, after its optician, Ole Højer. What matters hasn’t changed: a free and thorough eye test, followed by professional, friendly advice with no obligation.
- 2004 on Calle Antonio Ferrándis
- 1 hour free eye test
- 4 languages English, Spanish, German and Danish
- No. 16829 registered optician and optometrist
We want to give your eyesight the special care it deserves.
Ole Højer
The shop
It’s a small shop with a terracotta-coloured front and a Danish cargo bike by the door. Inside you’ll find a wide selection of quality frames and plenty of sunglasses, good service and honest advice, always at a reasonable price. All with a smile.
Qualifications and languages
Ole Højer is an optician and optometrist registered in Spain (registration no. 16829), and the shop is an authorised healthcare establishment (NICA 23750). Here, the person who examines your eyes is always a registered professional.
We can look after you in English, Spanish, German or Danish, so you can use whichever suits you best to tell us how you see and what you need.
How we work
We always look for the best solution to every sight problem, in a way that is simple, elegant, functional and affordable. In Danish, Ole puts it like this: enkel, elegant, funktionel.
That’s why we take as long as it takes: an hour for the eye test, and all the explanations you need before you decide anything.
Your trust and your recommendations are our best reward. If you think you’re due a check-up, and perhaps a new way of seeing the world, book an appointment.
